Since its foundation SCIENTER has developed training actions for trainers focused on the innovation in learning and training paths.
The training systems designed through the “Open and Distance Learning” (ODL) methodology place the student at the centre of the system and adopt a personalized and individualized learning method, giving the students responsibility in the learning choices as well as in the choice of their training/professional path.
Resulting from the fact that the student has an active role with increased autonomy and responsibility, the learning system designed in ODL, introduces elements of flexibility in the choice of training path, place of study, allocation time, learning rhythm and pace, support methods and evaluation timing.
A training system developed according this approach is characterized by:
- Greater attention to the trainees, their needs and characteristics;
- Flexibility in the delivery of individualized or small group learning paths coherent with previous knowledge and student expectations;
- The autonomous management of learning, in terms of rhythms and place of study;
- The use of teaching resources/materials specifically designed to enable the management of autonomous learning;
- The presence of a “tutor”, supporting and helping the path definition and the learning process.
